Reading material
On my way to work, I realized I had forgotten to bring my library book to read at lunch. Since I can never eat at my desk and surf the Internet at lunch unless I want to have to work through my lunch, I need something to do in my car over the noon hour. I have a couple of puzzle books in my glovebox for just such an occasion, but since my car is giving me the finger by slowly decomposing, the glovebox no longer opens. So I stopped at a gas station and perused my magazine choices.
I hate gossip/celebrity magazines, so those were out. There was a cooking magazine, but who am I kidding? I already subscribe to Woman’s Day and Family Circle and Good Housekeeping, so those were out, too. There was a Vogue, but it had Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover and you all know my feelings about her. They didn’t have any puzzle books. I finally plucked a Cosmo off the shelf, but then nearly dropped it in horror because the word “Va-jay-jay” was in one of the headlines.
So then I did the only logical thing and bought myself a copy of Fantasy Football Index.

OBVIOUSLY that is the ONLY choice…I’m so far behind my draft prep! But yay Fantasy Football starting again!

When I was in high school I loved Cosmo and thought Glamour was boring in stodgy. Around the end of college I realized that Cosmo was stupid and tedious and Glamour was actually interesting and somewhat relevant. Now I find Glamour stupid and tedious. It’s time to move on, but I’m not sure what to.

Va-jay-jay!?!?! Classy, Cosmo. Classy.
You made a sound decision, there.

I hate that forgot-the-book feeling. Luckily right now I’m working near a library branch, so I can grab something when need be.
Between Cosmo and the football magazine, I probably would have made the same choice, and I couldn’t care less about football.
