Kolacky Days 2010
This past weekend, we went to Jason’s hometown to participate in Kolacky Days. For me, this means eating a bunch of mini-donuts and a taco-in-a-bag. For Jason, it means making a beeline for the cheese curds. For Jason’s brother Corey, it meant trying to put together a team for the Bohemian Tractor Pull.
For those not familiar, a Bohemian Tractor Pull involves a team of four men – who pull the tractor.
As expected, Jason and his buddies were less than enthusiastic about the idea of pulling a tractor tied to dirty ropes 150 feet in 85-degree heat.
“I’m going to come up lame,” said one.
“I’m just going to stand there and let Corey do all the pulling,” said Jason.
“I’m going to pay Maddie [Jason’s teenage cousin who was on crutches] five bucks to take my place,” said another.
But they prevailed:
After finding out they placed third, their tune changed.
“That was awesome!” said one.
“Let’s do it again next year!” said Jason.
“I’m going to do a few squats between now and next year so we can do better!” said another. “And then gain eight inches of height and 75 pounds of muscle.”
I’m intrigued by both the Taco-in-a-bag and the tractor pull… not enough to try either, I don’t think.

Taco-in-a-bag is a mini bag of Doritos with taco fixings (beef, cheese, taco sauce, sour cream, lettuce) dumped into it. It is awesome, and I am still bitter that I did not get one this year. (We stopped at a bar before heading to the park where the food was, and us non-drinkers spent so much time trying to herd the drinkers to the park that by the time we got there, it was almost 9:00 p.m., and I chose mini-donuts instead.)

A Bohemian Tractor Pull…wow. I’m from Montana. How could I miss something like this? It looks hilarious, though!

What I want to know is who was the yahoo who got to SIT on the tractor to drive it while the guys pulled the thing—and did everyone else’s team have the toddler handicap weight added to their vehicle? Not that I’m competitive or anything.

I guess Taco in a bag must be a Minnesota thing…like a hotdish. One of the restaurants that we frequent in the summer has Taco in a Bag on their menu! (Actually it is more of a bar/grill…but still!)

OH MY GOD. taco-in-a-bag simultaneously terrifies me and intrigues me. do you eat it with a fork? or just kinda pour it in your mouth from the bag?

An impressive share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing a bit evaluation on this. And he actually bought me breakfast as a result of I found it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to debate this, I feel strongly about it and love reading more on this topic. If potential, as you turn into experience, would you thoughts updating your weblog with extra particulars? It is highly helpful for me. Big thumb up for this weblog put up!
