Boo to my first 5-day work week in a month
Things are wildly chaotic this week, so much so that I’m feeling a little stressed out. But fear not! I will make use of my 14-minute lunch break to post some boring dreck.
- I took a half-day Thursday. That meant I was at work by 7:00 a.m. I kind of wanted to barf at the thought, but then again, I was super productive since there was no one else in the office to interrupt me.
- We went to two Twins games in three days. They lost both times. OF COURSE.
- We went to Valleyfair on Friday. I took Dramamine (I always pronounce it Dram-a-NEEN, much to Jason’s chargrin) and avoided all rides with the words, “Whirl,” “Spin,” and “Vomit Vortex,” so I felt great. We got another caricature done too (photo to come) and it is my favorite yet.
- We watched the UFC fight downtown, and I got to ask four fine, upstanding members of the local police force, “Can you tell me how to find the front door to that second-floor Hooters?” Classy.
- I did not win the battle (much less the war) with the lawn weeds. They are ruthless and I think my only course of action is a flamethrower.
- We selected our seats for the new Twins stadium next year – yay! Hopefully the mini donut vendor will still come up that high. If not, I’ll just keep sneaking in my go-to game snack, Circus Peanuts.
- The pets were insanely cuddly this weekend, despite one quiet afternoon where we attempted to read but instead had to keep them from annoying each other, and we were able to capture Sunny’s brazen food-stealing attempt while the dog looked on in confused horror:
But then Abby told him a joke and he forgot all about it:
“And then she said, ‘Rectum? Damn near killed him!’ HAHA!”
I LOVE SHORTY. I think he and Montana would get along great.

I am sorry you are having a crap week - already.
Very exciting news about the new seats next year!

I’m thinking about using napalm on our weeds. I can’t think of anything else that will work. Napalm’s legal in the US, right? Right?
And oh, I love Shorty. The cat’s cute, too, but oh Shorty. Stealing the show!

That rectum joke always makes me laugh out loud. Does that mean I’m 12? Well so be it. LOL!!
Sorry a five day stressful week is stretching out before you. I feel your pain. Today at work sucked big poo. Here’s hoping that the week improves for the both of us!

Wait, does that mean that the first THREE police officers DID NOT KNOW where the entrance to the second floor Hooters was? Hard to believe.
And I’m glad Emily said it, because that rectum joke makes me laugh out loud every time, too.

7 am? AT WORK? i am involuntarily shuddering over here.
i’ve heard that some people with 2 cats put out 2 food bowls, one for each cat. my cats only want to eat from whichever bowl the other one is currently eating out of, so having two is pretty useless in my house.

Dude, you’ve almost convinced me that I need to try those darn circus peanuts again to remind myself why I HATE them so much. Maybe I’ve just missed something and it’s the proper snack of choice. Hmm.
