The answer, my friend, is bunnies in the wind
Yesterday was windy. One of those days where you fight to keep your car on the road; where you look at your disheveled hair and think, “Eh, that’s as good as it’s gonna get,”; where you arrive home to find branches and clusters of leaves strewn all over the yard.
“Check this out,” Jason said, as we headed out to see a Twins game. He pointed at the two trees in our front yard, which used to have neat, landscaped circles of fresh cedar chips around their trunks.
The chips were almost gone, scattered in messy clumps all over the lawn.
“Squirrels?” I asked. (I blame everything on the squirrels, including stealing the bird suet, digging holes in the yard, and the economy.)
“Maybe,” Jason said. “Or the wind.”
It seemed totally feasible, so we went on our way. And I thought that was the end of it. Until this morning.
As I went into the bedroom to retrieve my purse, I saw two rabbits in our front yard. One was racing around, scampering up to its buddy then darting away, trying to start a friendly wrestling match. But the other couldn’t be bothered; he was too busy rolling and digging and tossing our cedar chips all over the yard.
I bet he learned it from those damn squirrels.

BUNNIES!! I LOVE bunnies. We have one who lives at the end of our driveway. SO SO cute!

See, Montana hates squirrels and rabbits, and now I know why. Evil rodents!

That cheeky little bastard! Also, I would love to see bunnies in my yard on a regular basis, I just want to squeeze their little fuzzy bodies! That is, until they eat my garden or move things around like cedar chips. Maybe bunnies are responsible for lost socks?

It is hard to get mad at bunnies, they are just so cute! Not like squirrels, who are mean and evil and would eat you if they could. We have a bunny that lives in our backyard, but he isn’t causing trouble.

I’m guessing they laugh at you as they toss your chips all over the place.

Hee hee. Bunnies are the cutest pests ever.
The wind has been especially hellacious here lately. This morning, as I held on to the car door to get out, the wind caught the door and pulled me out of my car.
Thanks, but no thanks. I can get my butt out of that bucket seat on my own.

We have one less bunny in our yard – thanks to Tobie! Maybe your bunny was making a nest, which means more bunnies!

It’s been strangely windy here too. A few weeks ago I stopped at the store on my way home and practically got blown away in the wind and rain carrying groceries from our driveway in to the house. I came inside, my hair a mess plastered to my face, soaking wet, totally disheveled. Hub doesn’t ask if I’m ok, but instead says “did you just come from the bagel shop??”

It’s the cute ones that you have to beware of.

I HATE DETEST ABHOR, etc. those WASCALLY WABBITS.
Really, they eat everything in my yard.
We planted a bush last fall in front of the house. It disappeared this winter. Nothing left.
AND every year I watch all my asiatic and oriental lilies try in vain to poke their heads out of the dirt. If any survive the rabbits and happen to get buds, the deer come thru and eat them. It wouldn’t be so bad if winter wasn’t just around the corner and we actually had more months to enjoy or flowers.
WHINE!!!!!
