Look what the lovely Stephanie sent me!
This package was PERFECT. I mean, everything in it was just ME. She even got me a box of hair coloring in my new shade! (I already split one of the Whatchamacallits with Jason, but the other one probably won’t make it through tonight.) I’m finding reasons to clean just so I can use the lemon cleaning wipes and the lint rollers (NOT A PROBLEM with the cats). Also, my unruly bangs look chic with the hair clips. And? I will SO figure out that song that’s been in my head, thanks to the iTunes gift card. (The bacon, it goes without saying, will be greatly enjoyed.) Thanks so much, Stephanie! You’re the best!

Yay! First to comment! My favorite summertime treat is a tomato sandwich — garden fresh tomato sliced and put between 2 slices of white bread with a little mayo and salt and pepper. Ummm…is it lunchtime yet?

Woo hoo! I’m so glad you like everything! PS, I LOVE TOMATO SANDWICHES, too!! (We are SO having those for dinner, now!) But, let’s see… my favorite treat is fresh corn salsa… grilled corn on the cob with the kernals sliced off into a bowl w/ fresh lime juice, diced red onion, diced tomato, minced garlic and cilantro. YUM!

BLT sandwich with no lettuce, lots of mayo, tomato fresh from the garden, and lots of crispy bacon.
Or fresh tomato from the garden, sliced, and sprinkled with sugar.

Reading these comments is making my mouth water. I have to say my favorite summer treat is the fresh (actually ripe) fruit we are able to get up here in the frozen tundra for those 2 or 3 precious months. Although I also LOVE vegetables fresh from the garden. Yum.

oooh i have a lot… my mom’s pesto recipe made with fresh basil; definitely tomato sanwiches as well (w/white bread & mayo); sliced cucumbers with sea salt and freshly ground pepper… now i have to stop drooling, excuse me.

As good as actual healthy food can be, I’m going to have to go with frozen desserts. I like Slurpees and Sonic’s limeade slushes and rainbow sherbet and sorbet and all that jazz. But can you really go wrong with ice cream? Excessively chocolately ice cream with lots of “chunks” (of anything good, preferable chocolately and no nuts) mixed in. Yes, that has to be my favorite for I cannot betray my devotion to chocolate. MMMmmm… Must go double check that there isn’t any ice cream left hiding in my freezer RIGHT NOW!

I love coldstone’s milkshakes! I also tend to eat a lot of cereal (who feels like cooking dinner when it’s over 100 degrees outside!).

When I was a kid I used to love getting an organge/coke slushiee from the corner store and a slice of pizza. Now though I have no idea what I love the most, probably just a fresh salad with veggies from the garden…or maybe the vanilla frozen yogurt I was just eating while reading.

Hmmm… fav summer treat is a (formerly known as) Big Stick popsicle. They don’t call them BIG STICKS anymore. I think I know why. Our grocery-stealing grocery store calls them ASTRO POPS. The end result is the same: pineapple-orange-inexplicable citrus GOODNESS.
