Bathroom of the apes

Filed under: Miscellaneous — Shauna @ 8:50 am

About 3 or 4 years ago, we found this at Target and thought it was awesome:

Monkey soap! Hee! Fun and goofy; perfect for our second bathroom.

But then things spiraled out of control.

Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil monkey candles. God bless Target! So we have a few monkey items in our spare bathroom, big deal.

Photobucket

Heh. A monkey lotion dispenser. We don’t actually have lotion in it, but it looks nice!

Photobucket

Hello, obviously this bathroom needed a monkey rug. Seriously. Don’t judge.

And a monkey mirror. Man, we love Target’s $1 aisle.

OK, maybe we didn’t need another monkey candle (or 2), but they were $1!

And then came the piece de resistance:

Now we may have overdone it. Help us.

  2. I must concur with Jess. You have passed the line that was drawn about a million miles back. But dang that shower curtain is CUTE!

  3. That’s awesome! My bathroom is done in ducks. I love ducks and my husband loves monkeys. If we ever have a second bathroom I’m sure it will be filled with monkeys!

  5. That is awesome!!! I totally tried to theme it in my son’s bathroom but wimped out. We have frogs, ducks and fish. That is KIND of theme-y, right?! Like a pond… Yeah no so much, eh?!

  6. Have you noticed that Target is CRAWLING with monkey-themed shit lately? What is the DEAL with that? The world is now run by DAMNED DIRTY APES!

    Anyway, I think it’s cute.

  7. Very cute – at least it’s contained to a bathroom, which typically have a fairly limited square-footage. My kitchen was once overrun by cows, thanks to my MIL. I had ONE cow-themed little knick-knack in there, which she took to mean I needed 100 more things. We’re back to just the one thing again, but it was dicey there for a bit.

    Deni,

Welcome! And we are tickled by the fact that you found us by searching for bacon – ROCK.

  9. can we have a full-room picture? i would love to see all these elements working together :-)

  10. Alice, I can try, but since most of the items are in a medicine cabinet with see-thru shelves (located above the toilet behind the door), it’s gonna be tough to get everything in one shot.

  11. I think the monkeys rock! I’ve seen some of that stuff at the Target Dollar Spot (there is some new monkey stuff there now actually).

  12. I can’t judge, my bathroom is done in PINK, and monkeys are far more dignified. Seriously.
