Masthead #16 – Ice cream
Jason wasn’t too keen on this masthead, for the simple reason that he thought the pickle replacing the original chocolate-covered banana looked too much like…you know…a naughty item.
Ahem. REGARDLESS. I really like this one, only because I know exactly how long it took me to make the dime look like it was part of the ice cream (23985798237 days). And even then it wasn’t because of a great design technique, but rather because I desperately clicked on every possible layer effect until something worked. (Thank you, Color Burn!)
I used the free font “Coventry garden” from here and a concrete texture from here (sadly, this site doesn’t seem to be up anymore, which is too bad, because it was a great resource for free high-res textures).
Hmmm…seems I’ve suddenly become hungry for ice cream.
I can’t look at your masthead anymore. Ice cream is not part of the healthy living plan. It does look good, though. Despite the clear resemblance to a naughty item.

I think chocolate-dipped naughty items are perfectly acceptable. And tempting.
I think you did a great job with the dime – sometimes I can’t even spell my name in Photoshop.

Am I the only one who thinks the pickle looks fine but the remaining chocolate covered banana looks exactly like a… um, chocolate covered naughty thing?

I’m with Shelly! The pickle is the least of your problems! I’m looking at YOU chocolate covered banana!
You know what would be cute for winter, would be a SNOWMAN, and then you could use the pickle for a nose and dimes for the buttons! Too bad winter is always over. Well, NOT IN MN, but you know. Maybe next year.

I told Shauna that it wasn’t the pickle that was the problem. It was the chocolate covered half!
