Photo Friday

I have observed a rather unnerving phenomenon at work. Fridays are now my busiest days, which totally goes against my own beliefs, which are that Fridays = LAZY TIME. Also, I have noticed with increased agitation that every time (EVERY TIME) I put on my headphones to drown out the excessive use of decibels in the office, someone comes to give me work.

I AM NOT JOKING.

Scenario 1:

Me: Hmm…I really need to finish this newsletter article. I better put on my headphones and choose a song to listen to 329875923875 times in a row so I can concentrate.

[dons headphones]

[project manager magically appears to give me work]

Scenario 2:

Me: OK, it’s lunch time for everyone else. I’m going to put my headphones on and quickly write this letter.

[dons headphones]

[project manager miraculously breaks several laws of physics and appears at my side with more work]

Scenario 3:

Me: OK, let’s try an experiment…

[dons headphones]

[account manager sidles up to desk and does the whole 'aw, shucks, I procrastinated on this project all week and now I'm handing it off to you to finish yet this afternoon' dance]

My point of all this? My 3-day vacation that I originally planned has now been extended to a full week. OUT OF SPITE.

  5. Fridays should never be busy. Ever. It’s not the American way.

    I like the photos of the kitties. I never understand their thinking in the realm of thing to lie upon.

    Also, organizing ones book shelf by color seems to be sweeping the nation. We don’t actually own a book case, all of our books are piled in the guest bedroom in precariously placed, teetering piles.

  10. I think you need a little sign attached to your earphones. I’m thinking something along the lines of “SCREW OFF!!” in caps. Or, “Working. If you disturb me, there will be LESS WORKING.”
