Restaurant Review: Pickle Park
On Thursday evening, well before the Dumb Valleyfair Incident That Would Bring Me To My Knees For 36 Hours, Jason and I tried a new restaurant.
He was excited because the restaurant is owned by one of his favorite musicians, GB Leighton. I was excited because the name of the restaurant is Pickle Park. (Also, I was excited because our dinner was to be followed by a trip to Half Price Books, where I haven’t been for a long, long time, and finally, BOOKS!)
We got to Pickle Park and after being appropriately impressed by the plethora of televisions (Jason: “Of course…the Twins aren’t on tonight”), we gazed hungrily at the menu. I literally could not decide what to order, which usually means I end up with the chicken fingers, but at the last second, I spotted the Buffalo Bacon Extreme. JACKPOT.
And that was before I realized it was served with a side of spaghetti. Let me repeat that: My huge sandwich of buffalo chicken, bacon and cheese…was served with spaghetti.
It was beyond delicious. And Jason’s burger was just as delicious and portions-busting.
Our bill was (with drinks) less than $30. Awesome. Next time, we’ll go there during a Twins game or when they have live music.
And maybe I’ll have the chicken fingers.
Rating: 5 out of 5 pickles

Friday’s all you can eat fish, or Saturday’s all you can eat Chicken Alfredo are also options for our next visit!

Wow! Life just doesn’t get any better!! So where is this restaurant?
Recently I went past a fast food restaurant (can’t remember which one), and saw a sandwich named the Baconater, or something like that. Obviously I thought of Shauna

Hi Shauna,
I clicked on over from Swistles today, and then I noticed that you mentioned Valleyfair…and the Twins…and I was like JACKPOT! MINNESOTANS!
I miss the Great White North terribly so I’ll have to live vicariously through your site.
PS-Buffalo chicken pasta is one of my favorite dishes so I am TOTALLY on board with this meal. What city is the restaurant in?

Hi, Tessie - welcome!
The restaurant is in Fridley, right off of University Avenue where the old “Main Event” used to be, if you’re familiar with the area.

I have been here many times, the service has been horrific. The food may be good, but the service is totally lacking.

Daddysgirl,
Are you sure it’s the same place? It’s only been open for a month.
I think they’re still working the bugs out service-wise since they’re still new.
But if the service is so bad, why do you keep going back?
