Masthead #8 – Camping
This masthead is an example of irony, because I wanted it to reflect our favorite summer activity of camping, but with the wedding preparations and work being absolutely insane for both of us, we’ll probably only get to camp once or twice this summer. Don’t cry for us, though; I’ll camp out in the backyard if I have to just to get my fix.
Anyway, I knew I wanted a camping masthead for the summer months, so I made this one waaaay back when, back when my Photoshop skills still sucked. (Now they’re only slightly less sucky.) I now have mastheads completed to last through November.
I played around with textures here and intended for a half-realistic, half-cartoony look, which I think I captured with the squirrel, who’s obviously terrified of the roasted pickle.
When I was finished, I was horrified to realize I forgot to add the dime. After a minute, I realized it was there all along – I’m sometimes flighty, in case you haven’t noticed.
