My so-called revenge

Filed under: Food, Miscellaneous — Shauna @ 12:13 pm

I thought this week at work would be a relatively easy one with the president gone. But no. I’ve already had two straight days without a break putting together this stupid presentation for a very large bank. I now refuse to do business with this bank just because of the fact that they had this due during the holidays. Plus, you’d think I was the only competent person working here, with all the requests I’m getting. And I know that’s not true - I’m highly incompetent.

To compensate for my workload, I ordered Jimmy John’s. When they delivered my order, I found they forgot my kettle chips. That was the whole reason I ordered from them - screw the sandwich, I wanted needed the chips.

If I were ever to exact revenge upon someone, I wouldn’t kill them or torture them or anything like that; I would curse them with a thousand little annoyances for the rest of their life. Things like their alarm clock not going off, not having hot water in the shower, spilling coffee on themselves, being stuck in a huge traffic jam, getting a paper cut, having their lunch order be wrong, missing the bus, etc., etc. So they’d never have a truly awful day, but they’d never have a truly good day either.

I wonder who cursed me today?

Quit Smoking - Post #12

Filed under: Miscellaneous — Jason @ 10:27 am

I’ve only gained 4-5 pounds? Yeah, right. Quitting was tough, at least on my waist. Now I’ve got to work on all the weight I put on. I can’t blame this on the holidays.

Maybe I should start smoking as an appetite suppressant! Just kidding; I think.

Traffic Elimination Center® - Vol. 1

Filed under: Miscellaneous, Traffic Elimination Center® — Shauna @ 9:19 pm

Today is going to be an extra slow day at work (I hope), so I will unveil the first lesson from the hallowed Traffic Elimination Center’s® archives.

Illustration 1: This is the intersection right by my place (drawn to scale). As you can see, there are three lanes of traffic. Car A can only turn left; Car B can either continue on straight or turn left, and Car C can only go straight. For the sake of this exercise, assume that I am Car B, because I know what I’m doing. Both Car A and Car B will be turning left.

Might as well jump

Filed under: Miscellaneous — Shauna @ 12:14 pm

We finally got around to showing Jason’s parents our bungee jumping video from this summer. His Dad said he could put some music to it if we wanted, and before the sentence was completely out of his mouth, I blurted: “Jump. By Van Halen.” And Jason was like, “Aw, man. That’s a good one.”

He had to settle for “Learning to Fly” by Tom Petty.
